Its members and partners (major integrators, small- and medium-sized innovative companies, public and private research centers, universities and higher learning institutions, ministries and government organizations) constitute a community of interests centered on technological innovation.
Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) is an agency of the Canadian Department of National Defence responding to the scientific and technological needs of the Canadian Forces. Its mission is to ensure that the Canadian Forces remain scientifically and operationally relevant. Headquartered in Ottawa, DRDC is made up of seven research centres located across Canada. Covering a broad scientific program, DRDC actively collaborates with industry, international allies, academia, other government departments and the national security community.
PÔLE Québec Chaudière-Appalaches' mission is to serve as a catalyzer in economic development efforts. The specifically targeted areas will allow the economic ZONE to reach a competitive level on the international scene and therefore increase collective wealth. PÔLE's efforts have been rewarded by being named to the Site Selection Magazine « Top Canadian Groups », a select club of top ten Canadian economic development organizations. In September 2008, this honour was bestowed upon Pôle for the second year in a row. Applied technologies, which include a Defence and Security division, are among the areas specifically targeted by Pôle.
